Fountain Pen Description:

The Conklin Herringbone in burgundy has vintage lines but with a modern look and feel. The airplane-grade aluminium barren and cap has been engraved by computer to deliver a gorgeous herringbone barrel.

Each Herringbone is packaged in a presentation box and comes equipped with a converter that allows you to use bottled ink as well as two international standard cartridges.

My first fountain pen

My husband bought me this fountain pen as a gift, and he started off my collection with it! Conklin's construction is solid and sturdy, and the nib is beautiful. I find it flows more ink than I would like--I write very small, but with the amount of ink the Conklin flows, it forces me to write a bit bigger or risk my letters blending together! I think this comes down to my personal taste, though, and maybe it would have been avoided by a fine nib instead of the medium? However, someone who has larger handwriting than me wouldn't have a problem at all, so I still definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a sturdy, classic pen.
